Congregation Kol Ami
- Ongoing
collection of travel-size toiletries (donations can be placed in the
tzedaka basket available at every service) collected for the SHARE (SW
Washington’s unique response to hunger and homelessness) shelters in Clark
County
- Semi-annual
food drives (High Holidays at Passover) for local food bank
Semi-annual Mazon
collection in addition to 3% of Passover and other congregational dinners
to Mazon: The Jewish Response to Hunger
- CKA members
join to together to Walk for: American Diabetes Association, Breast Cancer
awareness, CROP Walk
- Winter
Overflow Hospitality hosting (Clark County faith communities work together
to provide overnight hospitality during the 21 coldest weeks of the year
for homeless people who exceed the capacity of the 3 SHARE shelters. Each
week of coverage requires a minimum of 180 man-hours to staff the Men’s
overflow shelter housed in St Paul Lutheran Church. CKA has participated
in each of the past 3 years.) In 2007 CKA members committed almost 400 hours plus food,
supplies and money to WHO.
